We have been doing political education work for over 40 years! The Willi Eichler Bildungswerk was founded in 1977 by Günter Schlatter and Karl-Heinz Otten, among others, both of whom are still active on our Board of Directors and Board of Trustees today. Just like the first Managing Director Hans Walter Schulten. At that time, we even had our own education center in Bad Münstereifel, but this had to be closed in 1999. (VPI Bonn) and became the Willi Eichler Akademie e. V.. The association is responsible for the educational institution of the same name.
Named after Willi Eichler and developed from the tradition of employee education organizations, the basic values of social democracy continue to guide us: freedom, equality and solidarity. As an actor in political education, we also see ourselves as part of an international, progressive movement that is clearly committed to human rights and takes a clear stance against racism, anti-Semitism and all forms of discrimination and misanthropy.
